Preview: Milan Wildcats vs. Atlanta Hornets

Milan is 3-0 against Atlanta since November of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Milan Wildcats' homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Atlanta Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th. Atlanta took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Milan, who comes in off a win.

Milan has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 29 points or more this season. They breezed by Maysville at home to the tune of 51-22. With Milan ahead 27-7 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Milan's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Violet Gray, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and three steals, and Avery Pickering, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 16 rebounds. Pickering set a new season high mark in steals with three. Marian Dabney was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three blocks.

Meanwhile, Atlanta came up short against Green City on Tuesday and fell 60-47. While losing is never fun, Atlanta can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 315th, while Green City is ranked 43rd).

Milan's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Atlanta, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Milan beat Atlanta 55-42 in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Will Milan repeat their success, or does Atlanta have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
