Waynesboro extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 13-4. They had just enough and edged out the New Oxford Colonials 7-5. For the Indians, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 victory the Colonials walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2025.
Rylan Nichols was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Miller, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Waynesboro kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as New Oxford only managed five.
As for New Oxford, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 12-7 record. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat they have suffered since April 7th.
On New Oxford's side, Kamden Lamke was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. Lamke has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Dalton Steiner also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Waynesboro and New Oxford should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Indians (ranked 40th) will meet Shippensburg (ranked 285th) at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, New Oxford will face off against Fleetwood at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (186 vs. 476).
