Soccer Recap: Bessemer City Comes Up Short

Bessemer City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They lost 5-0 to the Cherryville Ironmen. One thing that didn't help Bessemer City's chances was the red card they were dealt courtesy of Alissa Jones.

Bessemer City's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Cherryville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-9.

Bessemer City and Cherryville could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Yellow Jackets will face off against Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (509 vs. 227). Meanwhile, Cherryville (ranked 406th) will meet East Gaston (ranked 190th) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
