Basketball Recap: Highlands Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Highlands extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-4. They had to suffer through a 75-24 loss at the hands of the Cherokee Braves. The Highlanders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-20.

As for Cherokee, they now have a winning record of 2-1. They have beaten Highlands the last nine times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Highlands has come to flipping the script.

Cherokee's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mack Burgess, who shot 64% from the field en route to 17 points along with five boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Kaden Stephens, who went 5-for-11 on his way to 12 points and seven steals.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Highlands will take on rival Rosman at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Cherokee is set to challenge their familiar foe Summit Charter at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
