Basketball Recap: Gaston Christian Wins Going Away Against Hickory

The Gaston Christian Eagles didn't have too much trouble with the Hickory Red Tornadoes on Saturday as they won 80-65. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Cameron Newman had another great game (as he tends to do), going 9-for-15 en route to 23 points in addition to seven boards and six assists. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 45.2% shooting accuracy. Brayden Milner was another key player, shooting 54% from the field on his way to 18 points and five rebounds.

Gaston Christian's record now sits at 15-1. As for Hickory, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Gaston Christian will take on The Skill Factory in a holiday battle at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hickory, they will be home for the holidays to greet Foard at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Red Tornadoes will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 62 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
