Baseball Game Preview: Tennyson Lancers vs. San Leandro Pirates

Tennyson is 0-10 against San Leandro since March of 2015 but things could change on Tuesday. The Lancers will host the Pirates at 4:00 p.m. Tennyson has given up an average of 13.5 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Tennyson is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Friday. They lost 29-0 to Arroyo.

Meanwhile, San Leandro came tearing into Monday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Broncos a 3-0 shutout. Three seems to be a good number for the Pirates as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

San Leandro got a great performance from Sam Linnevers as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Linnevers has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lorenzo Charles, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

San Leandro hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive contests.

San Leandro's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-6. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Tennyson, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.
