WestSide hasn't had much luck against Wyoming East recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Renegades will square off against the Warriors at 5:30 p.m. WestSide has given up an average of 8.3 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
On Wednesday, WestSide needed a bit of extra time to put away Van. They put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 20-12 victory. The Renegades' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Isaiah Clay tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over 6.2 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Braxton Waldron was incredible, getting on base in six of his seven plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. WestSide is undefeated when Waldron posts two or more stolen bases, but 2-10 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Kadien Vance, who got on base in five of his seven plate appearances with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
WestSide always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Wyoming East came up short against James Monroe on Tuesday and fell 7-3.
Wyoming East's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 16-6. As for WestSide, their record is now 7-10.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. WestSide has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Wyoming East struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
WestSide might still be hurting after the 13-3 loss they got from Wyoming East in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Renegades avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
