Baseball Recap: South Florence Takes a Loss

South Florence and Airport squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but South Florence had to settle for second. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 9-2. The Bruins have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

South Florence saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabe McLaughlin, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

South Florence's loss dropped their record down to 20-12. As for Airport, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-6 record this season.

South Florence does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Airport, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Seneca at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles are on a five-game streak of home wins, the Bobcats a seven-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
