Football Recap: Orangewood Christian Comes Up Short

Orangewood Christian and The Master's Academy squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Orangewood Christian had to settle for second. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 29-28 to the Eagles. The game was a 21-21 toss-up at halftime, but the Rams couldn't quite close it out.

Orangewood Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jack Benson, who rushed for 272 yards and one TD while picking up 9.7 yards per carry, and Tre Roach, who rushed for 93 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 11 carries. Benson has become a key player for the Rams: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least 100 rushing yards, but 3-4 otherwise.

Orangewood Christian moved to 6-5 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for The Master's Academy, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Orangewood Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for The Master's Academy, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 51-34 loss against Oak Hall on the 14th.
