Volleyball Recap: Gilbert Takes a Loss

Gilbert was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Desert Ridge Jaguars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on April 1st.

Gilbert's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Desert Ridge, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-9.

Gilbert and Desert Ridge could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings. The Tigers will challenge Williams Field at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (75 vs. 8). Meanwhile, Desert Ridge (ranked 40th) will meet ALA - Queen Creek (ranked tenth) at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
