Football Game Preview: Forest Wildcats vs. Lake Minneola Hawks + Official Tickets

Forest is 0-3 against Lake Minneola since October of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Wildcats will challenge the Hawks at 7:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Wildcats on Friday. Forest took a 14-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wesley Chapel. Despite 80 more yards than Wesley Chapel, Forest couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Forest's defeat came about despite a quality game from Keziyrehun Rivers, who rushed for 90 yards and one TD.

Don't try to pin the team's loss on the defense: they kept the trenches locked down and allowed a mere 3.1 yards per carry. While one picked up at least seven total tackles, Keyontae Davenport stood above the rest. He made seven total tackles. Forest's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 4.7.

Meanwhile, Lake Minneola played a tough game last Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Davenport 41-6. The Hawks were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.

Lake Minneola's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Forest, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Friday's matchup might be decided in the trenches. Forest has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 182.7 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Lake Minneola, though, as they've been averaging only 69.8 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?

Forest suffered a grim 47-27 defeat to Lake Minneola in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
