Baseball Game Preview: Oak Hill Oaks vs. Symmes Valley Vikings

The Oak Hill Oaks will square off against the Symmes Valley Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Oak Hill 3.5, Symmes Valley 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Oak Hill's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over Eastern. The result was nothing new for the Oaks, who have now won seven matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

The result came thanks to Mikey Williams's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Eddie Abele was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two doubles. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Oak Hill hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Symmes Valley fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against South Point on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Pointers by a score of 3-2.

Oak Hill has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Symmes Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-8.

Everything went Oak Hill's way against Symmes Valley in their previous meeting back in April, as Oak Hill made off with a 13-6 victory. Do the Oaks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
