Basketball Recap: Cumberland Academy Takes a Loss

Cumberland Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 40-37 heartbreaker at the hands of the Kilgore Bulldogs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Knights have suffered since December 3rd.

Cumberland Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Kilgore, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-9.

Cumberland Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Westwood at 2:15 p.m. on December 31st. Kilgore also won't see the court for a while: their next match is against Carthage at 6:15 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
