Football Game Preview: Whitefield Academy WolfPack vs. Aquinas Fightin' Irish + How To Watch

The Whitefield Academy WolfPack will take on the Aquinas Fightin' Irish at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Whitefield Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 29.6 points per game this season.

Whitefield Academy is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Fellowship Christian just ended the team's eight-game winning streak back in October. They lost 31-7 to the Paladins. The matchup marked the WolfPack's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Whitefield Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of John Durden and Robert Sipp. With that strong performance, Durden is now averaging an impressive 5.1 total tackles per game. Another thorn in Fellowship Christian's side was William Dukes, who picked up 2.5 sacks and made 12 total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Aquinas had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past Darlington, posting a 52-21 win. The Fightin' Irish might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 21 points or more this season.

Whitefield Academy better focus on containing Christian Kates and Turner Stevenson as the pair were huge in Aquinas' win. Kates gained 183 total yards, while Stevenson threw for 316 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes. What's more, Stevenson posted -6 rushing yards, the most he's had since back in September.

Whitefield Academy's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 8-2. As for Aquinas, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.
