Softball Recap: Red Hill Find Success

Red Hill had lost three games on the road, but after bumping their record up to 4-8 on Wednesday that streak is in the rearview. They had just enough and edged out the Martinsville Bluestreaks 14-12. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 4-3 back in April.

Chloe Seed was incredible, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Jadelyn Wheat also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Red Hill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

As for Martinsville, they dropped their record down to 7-12 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home. Even if they couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

On Martinsville's side, Chloe Connelly made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Bella Reed, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Coming up, Red Hill will be playing in front of their home fans against Lawrenceville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Martinsville, they will head out on the road to square off against Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bobcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.6 runs per game on average), something the Bluestreaks will no doubt try to take advantage of.
