Softball Recap: Loranger Comes Up Short

Loranger managed to slip by Pearl River the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Wolves lost 27-12 to the Rebels on Thursday. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.

Daryck Deville was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. She is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Koda Mathews, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs.

Loranger has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-8-1 record this season. As for Pearl River, they pushed their record up to 7-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Loranger will face off against Franklinton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pearl River, they will head out to square off against Ponchatoula at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Green Wave will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
