Baseball Recap: Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy can now relate to. They lost 10-4 to the Twentynine Palms Wildcats on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Twentynine Palms this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-1 back in March.

Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kevyn Espinoza Ramos, who went 2-for-3 with one run. Ricky Gutierrez was another, going 2-for-3 with one run.

Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. As for Twentynine Palms, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-8.

Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Twentynine Palms, they will face off against Academy for Academic Excellence at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight.
