Basketball Game Preview: Othello Huskies vs. Ellensburg Bulldogs

Othello is 2-8 against Ellensburg since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The two teams will meet in a canine-themed contest at 7:00 p.m.

Othello is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 14th straight game dating back to last season on Saturday. They had to suffer through a 87-45 loss at the hands of Selah. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 307th, while the Vikings are ranked 47th).

Meanwhile, Ellensburg entered their tilt with Ephrata on Saturday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They rang in the new year with a 57-46 win over the Tigers. That's two games straight that the Bulldogs have won by exactly 11 points.

Othello's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Ellensburg, they pushed their record up to 6-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Othello might still be hurting after the 67-45 defeat they got from Ellensburg when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Othello avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
