Basketball Recap: Landon Mccarville and Blaize Jung Secure Win for Bennington

There's no place like home for Bennington, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They took down the Crete Cardinals 61-42 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Badgers also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2024.

Leading Bennington to victory were Blaize Jung and Landon McCarville. Jung shot 50% from the field en route to 17 points along with seven assists and six rebounds, while McCarville posted 19 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. Those three steals gave McCarville a new career-high. Brady Nichols was another key player, putting up eight points.

The win got Bennington back to even at 1-1. As for Crete, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Bennington and Crete will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Badgers are set to face off against their familiar foe Elkhorn North at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Crete will challenge rival Beatrice on Thursday.
