Baseball Recap: Grant Poston's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Willard over Margaretta

If Willard was feeling good fresh off their 11-1 takedown of Port Clinton on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Crimson Flashes wound up with the same score they had in their last game (11-1), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss they have suffered against the Polar Bears since April 22, 2022.

Willard saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grant Poston, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Willard dropped their record down to 4-16 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Margaretta, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-16 record this season.

Willard has already played their next contest, a 7-3 loss against Columbian on the 16th. As for Margaretta, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 8-3 victory against Plymouth on the 16th.
