Baseball Recap: Pacific Ridge Wins Going Away Against Liberty Charter

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Crossroads, Pacific Ridge was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 16-6 margin over the Liberty Charter Lions. That ten run margin sets a new team best for the Firebirds this season.

Pacific Ridge let Michael Fredericks and Cal Chivers run wild. Fredericks scored four runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2, while Chivers scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Fredericks a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Jed McDonald, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Pacific Ridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win snapped Pacific Ridge's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-6 record. As for Liberty Charter, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Pacific Ridge will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Guajome Park Academy at 3:15 p.m. on the 16th. The Frogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13 runs per game on average), something the Firebirds will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Liberty Charter, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 7-6 defeat against Castle Park on the 8th.
