Baseball Game Preview: Goshen RedHawks vs. NorthWood Panthers

The Goshen RedHawks will head out to square off against the NorthWood Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. NorthWood took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Goshen, who comes in off a win.

On Monday, Goshen earned a 5-1 victory over Wawasee. The win made it back-to-back victories for the RedHawks.

Bray Hoag spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 12 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Braxton Cline was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Goshen is 2-1 when Cline posts three or more RBI, but 7-9 otherwise. Jaxon Miller was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run.

Meanwhile, NorthWood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 5-1 to Plymouth.

Nate Dutkowski was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

NorthWood's defeat dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Goshen, their win bumped their record up to 9-10.

Goshen couldn't quite get it done against NorthWood in their previous meeting two weeks ago as they fell 9-4. Can the RedHawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
