Basketball Game Preview: Edgewood Red Wolves vs. West Shore Wildcats

The Edgewood Red Wolves will take on the West Shore Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Edgewood is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

West Shore is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 40-18 margin over Pineapple Cove Classical Academy. The Wildcats pushed the score to 36-9 by the end of the third, a deficit the Patriots cut but never quite recovered from.

Edgewood better focus on containing Emily Marshall and Jalaya King as the pair were huge in West Shore's win. Marshall dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds, while King almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine steals. The dominant performance gave King a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Tiffany Duong, who posted four points.

West Shore's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-11. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.0 points per game. As for Edgewood, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-10.
