Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Josie Mondello-Garrett and Aubrey Unger Lead Preble Shawnee to Victory

Preble Shawnee's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They came out on top against the Bradford Railroaders by a score of 53-42. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Arrows as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Preble Shawnee was led to victory by Aubrey Unger and Josie Mondello-Garrett. Unger dropped a triple-double on 15 points, ten rebounds, and ten steals, while Mondello-Garrett went 6 of 12 on her way to 16 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals. Unger is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Braelyn Tangeman, who posted six points and six boards.

Preble Shawnee smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Preble Shawnee's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Bradford, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Preble Shawnee will square off against Oakwood at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Bradford, they will host Lehman Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
