Bishop Kelly had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against the Lewiston Bengals by a score of 10-6 on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Knights sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Lauren Fettic was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Olivia Watt was incredible, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Julia Baerlocher, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs.
Bishop Kelly's victory bumped their record up to 25-6. As for Lewiston, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-13.
As of now, neither Bishop Kelly nor the Bengals have any future games scheduled.
