Basketball Recap: Daniel Baier's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Oxbridge Academy over Katz Yeshiva + How To Watch

Oxbridge Academy had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 1-4 to make it four. They received a blow as they fell 68-51 to the Katz Yeshiva Storm. The ThunderWolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Storm apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.

Oxbridge Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daniel Baier, who shot 54% from the field to rack up 22 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ty Caldwell, who posted 14 points.

As for Katz Yeshiva, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.3 points over those games.

Katz Yeshiva's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nir Ovaknin, who almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine boards. Ovaknin is crushing it when it comes to points: he's scored at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Stern, who went 7-for-10 on his way to 14 points.

Coming up, Oxbridge Academy will head out to face off against West Boca Raton at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Katz Yeshiva, they will host Donna Klein Jewish Academy at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday.
