The Whittier Cardinals earned a 34-25 victory over the Gabrielino Eagles on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cardinals.

Michael Santos looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 68 yards and a pair of TDs, while also rushing for 60 yards. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (156.3).

Whittier has also opened the season with a perfect 2-0 record. As for Gabrielino, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.
