Baseball Recap: Springfield Takes a Loss

Springfield started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Pleasant Plains. They fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 7-6 on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Senators of the 10-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Tyler Elliott made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Jacob Jenkins, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Springfield's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Pleasant Plains, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 10-0.

Springfield didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 6-5 loss against Auburn on the 12th. As for Pleasant Plains, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Illini West on the 12th.
