Basketball Recap: Animas Comes Up Short

Animas was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 35th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 61-43 bruising from the Cliff Cowboys/Cowgirls. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Cowboys/Cowgirls this season, with their most recent loss being a 76-40 defeat two weeks ago.

Despite the loss, Animas still got an impressive performance from Tallon Marble, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 13 boards. Those 13 rebounds gave Marble a new career-high. Weston Strickland was another key player, putting up seven points.

Animas' loss dropped their record down to 0-22. As for Cliff, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

Animas has already played their next contest, a 64-29 defeat against Quemado on the 20th. As for Cliff, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 71-40 win against Reserve on the 20th.
