Softball Recap: North Miami Has No Trouble Against Manchester

North Miami barely beat Manchester the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Warriors blew past the Squires 18-2 on Friday. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Squires recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Ashley Sumpter-Music made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Ashtyn Halterman was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Hackworth, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

North Miami lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

North Miami's record now sits at 8-2. As for Manchester, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Miami will square off against Taylor at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Manchester, they will challenge Peru at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
