Basketball Recap: Pickens Academy Takes a Loss

Pickens Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 84-18 loss at the hands of the Tuscaloosa Academy Knights. The Pirates were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 58-6.

Danilo Stojakovic was nothing short of spectacular for Tuscaloosa Academy: he posted 30 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Patrick Stell, who had nine points.

Pickens Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pickens Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Aliceville at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Tuscaloosa Academy, they will welcome Holy Family Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Tuscaloosa Academy's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Holy Family Catholic has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
