Baseball Recap: Honesdale Takes a Loss

Mid Valley hit Honesdale with a six-run first inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Hornets lost 11-1 to the Spartans. The Hornets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Honesdale saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landen Estus, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Honesdale and nudges their season record down to 5-7. As for Mid Valley, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Honesdale will welcome Dunmore at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bucks' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Hornets' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Mid Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Scranton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
