Football Recap: Butler Starts Season with Win Against Shaler Area

Butler had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They managed a 32-26 win over the Shaler Area Titans. This was payback for the Golden Tornado, who suffered a 20-14 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Mark Klemz was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 136 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry.

Butler didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Marcus Vicari, Kevin Shriver, and Deacon Simko picked up one apiece.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Butler will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Brashear at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Shaler Area, they will welcome South Fayette at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
