Basketball Game Preview: Claymont Mustangs vs. St. Clairsville Red Devils

The Claymont Mustangs are taking a road trip to challenge the St. Clairsville Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. St. Clairsville took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Claymont, who comes in off a win.

Claymont will bounce into Monday's contest after beating Garaway, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Claymont took down Garaway 44-29 on Saturday. That 15 point margin sets a new team best for the Mustangs this season.

Meanwhile, St. Clairsville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 51-46 heartbreaker at the hands of Beaver Local.

Claymont's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-9. As for St. Clairsville, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12.

Claymont came up short against St. Clairsville when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 58-53. Can Claymont avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
