Baseball Game Preview: Sheridan Generals vs. Marietta Tigers

The Sheridan Generals will be taking part in a tournament against the Marietta Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sheridan will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.

On Monday, Sheridan got the win against Westfall by a conclusive 9-1. The Generals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 games by six runs or more this season.

TJ Connors looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on James Solomon, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kory Holden, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs.

Meanwhile, Marietta can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They and Waverly finished up their contest with a 3-3 tie.

Sheridan pushed their record up to 18-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. Marietta's tie makes their record 9-15-1 this season.
