Basketball Recap: Southwest Atlanta Christian Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Southwest Atlanta Christian strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Cristo Rey Atlanta 91-25. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 58-13.

Southwest Atlanta Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jabari Burleson, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten assists. Burleson is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 47% in the last 14 games he's played dating back to last season. Tavaris Burleson was another key player, shooting 71% from the field on his way to 22 points and six rebounds.

Southwest Atlanta Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

Southwest Atlanta Christian's win bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Cristo Rey Atlanta, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 3-5.

Southwest Atlanta Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 71-49 victory against Banneker on the 13th. Cristo Rey Atlanta has also already played their next game (against Drew Charter), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
