Soccer Game Preview: Collinsville vs. Cedartown

The Collinsville Panthers will take on the Cedartown Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Collinsville comes in on four and Cedartown on three.

Collinsville will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal on Saturday, then bounced right back against Hokes Bluff on Tuesday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 6-2 victory. Collinsville might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by three goals or more this season.

Jan Segura and Aaron Herrera scored all six of Collinsville's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 57 goals.

Meanwhile, Cedartown hadn't done well against Rome recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Bulldogs who were credited with the win. Cedartown got it done in the shootout by posting seven goals to Rome's six.

Collinsville's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-2-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 51 goals over those nine contests. As for Cedartown, their victory bumped their record up to 11-3.
