Baseball Recap: Coolidge Sets Scoring Season-High Against Cardozo

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Coolidge). They came out on top against the Cardozo Clerks by a score of 12-7 on Wednesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Colts also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Idris Mouton made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over four innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off only one hit. Mouton was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Jose Leiva was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Orion Fernandez, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4.

Coolidge's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-10. As for Cardozo, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, Coolidge will head out on the road to take on DC International at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Cardozo, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Eastern at 4:00 p.m. on the 25th.
