Basketball Game Preview: Danville Hawks vs. Hatton Hornets + How To Watch

The Danville Hawks will face off against the Hatton Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Danville took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They really took it to Curry for the full four quarters, racking up a 70-36 win. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Hawks had established a 22-point advantage.

Danville can attribute much of their success to Donjay Compton, who went 9-for-15 en route to 21 points, and Ty Bailey, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 11 boards. The game was Bailey's third in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Glenn, who posted six points.

Danville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Hatton challenged Winston County in a bug-themed battle on Monday. The Hornets blew past the Yellowjackets 79-51. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hornets.

Hatton's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Danville, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Danville didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Hatton when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 62-57 win. Do the Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
