Nucla extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 8-8. They were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Dove Creek Bulldogs. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.

Brycen Rummel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jacob Davis, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. He has become a key player for Nucla: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jace Bonacquista, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

As for Dove Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. The loss continues a trend for them in their meetings with Nucla: they've now lost four in a row.

On Dove Creek's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kycen Gritz, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Josh Kibel also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Nucla will have a chance to go back-to-back against Dove Creek: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
