Basketball Recap: North Edgecombe Skates Past Rocky Mount Prep with Ease

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely North Edgecombe's strategy against Rocky Mount Prep on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the North Edgecombe Warriors blew the Rocky Mount Prep Jaguars out of the water with a 68-15 final score. The game marked the Warriors' most dominant win of the season so far.

North Edgecombe's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Shy'Niya Ricks, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten steals. Ricks is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ke'Ziyah Pittman, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine assists.

North Edgecombe was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rocky Mount Prep only racked up six assists.

Jada Silver and Mykaylah Lynch certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Silver posted five points and three steals, while Lynch put up four points and 12 rebounds. Silver is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season.
