Softball Recap: Chippewa Valley Extends Winning Streak to Three

Chippewa Valley got their first taste of in-conference action on Thursday and they started things off strong. They walked away with a 9-6 win over the Grosse Pointe North Norsemen. With that victory, the Big Reds brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Sam Mondalek was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sammie Nowicki, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

The win (which was Chippewa Valley's third in a row) raised their record to 8-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Grosse Pointe North, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Chippewa Valley will face off against Anchor Bay at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Grosse Pointe North, they will take on University Liggett at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
