Soccer Game Preview: La Porte vs. Lumberton

The La Porte Bulldogs will take on the Lumberton Raiders in a tournament on Friday. La Porte's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

La Porte's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They won by a goal and slipped past West Fork 1-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Bulldogs were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Lumberton has been on a difficult stretch since their win on the second. They fell just short of East Chambers by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that the Raiders have lost by just one goal.

Andrew Hansen wasn't going to let East Chambers walk away unscathed as he scored both of Lumberton's goals, bringing his season total up to four goals.

Lumberton's loss dropped their record down to 1-3-2. As for La Porte, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2-1.

La Porte skirted past Lumberton 1-0 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Does La Porte have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lumberton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
