Basketball Recap: Chambers' Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Chambers hasn't had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They snuck past the Palisades Pumas with a 44-39 win on Wednesday.

Several Pumas players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kyra Morris, who posted seven points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. Morris has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Tynilla Simpkins, who put up 13 points and eight boards.

Chambers' victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-14. As for Palisades, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chambers will venture away from home to challenge North Mecklenburg at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. North Mecklenburg will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Chambers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Palisades, they will head out on the road to face off against Ballantyne Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Palisades is facing Ballantyne Ridge at the right time seeing as Ballantyne Ridge is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
