Preview: Fairview Tigers vs. Seneca Bobcats
Fairview has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Seneca Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, things could have been worse for Fairview, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 53-36 loss to Sharon. While losing is never fun, Fairview can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 541st, while Sharon is ranked 29th).
Despite the defeat, Fairview got a solid performance out of Archie Murphey, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds. Those six rebounds set a new season-high mark for him.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Seneca, who are still winless after their sixth contest. They were outmatched by Corry on the road and fell 68-27. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Seneca in their matchups with Corry: they've now lost seven in a row.
Fairview bumped their record down to 0-5 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Seneca, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.
Things could have been worse for Fairview, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 58-44 loss to Seneca in their previous matchup back in March. Can Fairview avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
