Basketball Recap: Sycamore Comes Up Short

Sycamore was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 40-29 to the DeKalb Barbs. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 52-27 back in November of 2024.

Sycamore's record now sits at 8-17. As for DeKalb, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season.

Sycamore will be taking part in a tournament against Stillman Valley at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Stillman Valley will roll in looking for their 25th straight victory, something Sycamore surely won't give up without a fight. As for DeKalb, they will welcome Naperville Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Naperville Central has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 188 points over their last three contests.
