Soccer Recap: Archbishop Riordan Takes a Loss

Archbishop Riordan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory Fightin' Irish. The Crusaders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Fightin' Irish apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Archbishop Riordan's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory, their victory bumped their record up to 3-6-4.

Archbishop Riordan and Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Archbishop Riordan (ranked 837th) will meet Archbishop Mitty (ranked 74th) at 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory will square off against Bellarmine College Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday down 486 places (498 vs. 12).
