Basketball Recap: Highland Takes a Loss

Highland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 50-33 bruising from the South Summit Wildcats.

Despite the loss, Highland still got an impressive performance from Kennedy Gurgel, who posted 15 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Gurgel a new career-high in points.

Highland's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for South Summit, they pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

When Highland and South Summit next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Highland will try to stop Olympus' five-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Meanwhile, South Summit will try to stop North Summit's three-game winning streak when the meet at 3:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
