Recap: Steamboat Springs Sailors vs. Loveland Red Wolves

This season hasn't been kind to the Steamboat Springs Sailors, who are still winless after their fifth game. They were dealt a 59-28 defeat at the hands of Loveland on Friday. Steamboat Springs found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 21 to 8 on offense.

Hailey Bender and Tyler King certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Bender scored ten points, while King scored eight points. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for Bender.

Loveland found their leader in underclassman Courtlyn Yaussi, who scored 15 points along with five steals. Another player making a difference was Autumn Rinehart, who scored five points along with ten rebounds and four steals.

Steamboat Springs' loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Loveland, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Steamboat Springs won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Berthoud at 9:00 a.m. on December 9th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Berthoud is ranked 237th, while Steamboat Springs is ranked 258th). Loveland won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Eagle Valley. Hopefully Eagle Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 32 on Friday.
