Baseball Recap: Lutheran Lions vs. Chatfield Chargers
After flying high against Elizabeth last Tuesday, Lutheran came back down to earth. The Lutheran Lions fell victim to a rough 17-6 defeat at the hands of the Chatfield Chargers on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Lutheran of the 11-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2023.
Eli Morgan made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Wade Thewes was another key contributor, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
On Chatfield's side, Colin Metz was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with a home run and four runs. Another player making a difference was JR Harpstreith, who scored two runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.
